Attended Montana State University for his teaching credential and is now currently working on a Masters degree in Adventure Education through Plymouth State University. Another unique program is a rock-climbing and bouldering unit that all students participate at Smith Rock State Park. He received the unsung hero award and was voted top 100 educators in the United States in 2001. In the summer months, Beau, when not teaching, is a whitewater rafting guide for a company in Maupin, OR. He takes clients on fun-filled day and overnight trips on the lower Deschutes River. His hobbies include snow skiing, mountain biking, hiking, rafting, rock climbing and scuba diving.
